The Liberty Hill Police Department is charged with enforcing
the Code Ordinances for the City Of Liberty Hill.
If you
want to report a violation of a City Ordinance you will need to complete a
Code Compliance Complaint Form.
You may
obtain a Code Compliance Complaint Form at City Hall or at the Police
Department.
MISSION
The
Liberty Hill City Department of Code Compliance seeks compliance to the
Municipal Codes by providing citizens and businesses guidance and direction
for the resolution of problems and violations in a friendly, fair and
impartial manner. Currently the Liberty Hill Police Department is charged
with the duty of code enforcement for the City.
PURPOSE
The
purpose of the Code Compliance Department is to achieve code compliance so
that the citizens of Liberty Hill may enjoy a cleaner, safer and better
place to live. Areas of concern include:
Improvement of neighborhoods.
Integrity
of property value.
Safety of
new construction.
Compliance with zoning laws.
Control
of signs.
Protect
from environmental hazards.
Elimination of nuisances.
Why does
Liberty Hill have a Code Compliance Department?
The
majority of citizens recognize the importance of voluntary compliance to our
codes. To protect our citizens from those who disobey these codes, and to
ensure the general health, safety and welfare of our community, codes must
be enforced.
What
does the Code Compliance Department do?
Some code
enforcement responsibilities are to:
Answer
citizen complaints and concerns.
Investigate in-view violations.
Respond
to City Council assignments.
Educate
the public on ordinance compliance issues.
Encourage
voluntary compliance to violations.
Coordinate with environmental enforcement agencies and other governmental
agencies.

Code
Compliance Priority Ratings
Each code
compliance case is assigned a letter priority rating from A to D, "A" being
the highest priority. Cases will be processed in the order of the priority
rating.
TYPE
A
Code violations having life/safety/health
concerns, as determined by the Code Compliance Officer, or other applicable
City staff. Clear or potential danger to life, property or the environment,
sewage disposal and other Health Department concerns.
TYPE B
Code violations having a significant impact, as
determined by the Code Compliance Officer, on the public, nearby properties
and/or the neighborhood, and/or violations for which a timely response is
necessary or appropriate. Code violations holding up the issuance of
building permits; highly visible junk or debris; high volume junk or debris;
junk, debris or other code violations likely to have a significant negative
impact on property values in the vicinity or severely impact the qualify of
life of nearby residents.
TYPE C
Code violations which challenge the authority
of the City and the credibility of the Code Compliance program. Repeat
offenders, multiple violations, violations of conditions attached to
development approvals.
TYPE D
Code violations, as determined by the Code
Compliance Officer, having little or no impact on nearby residents,
properties or the neighborhood.
